What is CivicRate?

CivicRate is India's digital leader scorecard platform. It allows citizens to anonymously rate their elected representatives (MP, MLA, CM) on five performance parameters: corruption, infrastructure, safety, governance, and development.

How does voting work?

1) Find your leader by searching or browsing by city/state. 2) Enter your name and age for identity verification. 3) Rate on 5 parameters from 1 to 5 stars. 4) Optionally add a comment. Your vote is recorded anonymously.

Is my identity revealed?

No. Your name and age are only used to generate a unique cryptographic fingerprint (SHA-256 hash). This fingerprint prevents duplicate votes but cannot be reversed to identify you. All displayed ratings are 100% anonymous.

Can I vote for the same leader twice?

No. Each unique individual can vote for a specific leader only once. The system detects duplicate identities through cryptographic fingerprinting.

What is the CR Score?

The CivicRate Score (CR Score) is a composite rating from 1 to 5, calculated from all five parameter ratings. It represents the overall public perception of a leader's performance. See our Methodology page for the full formula.

Why does a leader show "Not enough votes"?

CR Scores are only displayed after a leader receives at least 10 verified votes. This ensures statistical significance and prevents manipulation by small groups.

Can leaders see who voted?

No. Leaders can only see aggregate ratings and anonymous comments. No voter identity is ever revealed.

Where does the leader profile data come from?

Profile data (assets, criminal cases, legislative activity) is sourced from public databases including MyNeta (Association for Democratic Reforms), PRS India, and Election Commission records. All sources are clearly attributed.
